The Tenants Information Service was established in 1989, by tenants to provide information, advice and training for tenants throughout Scotland and generally to support the efforts of the tenants' movement.

TIS is a national non-profit making support agency which is user controlled.

TIS has approximately 200 tenants organisations and landlords in its membership.
The TIS Executive Council is elected from the TIS membership.

The Executive Council comprises of 20 tenants whose role it is to control and run the work of the organisation.

The Executive Council is elected from the TIS membership on an annual basis. We owe a big thank you to members of the TIS EC during 2006-2007 who have given their time and commitment to the organisation.

Members of the EC in the past year were: Jeanette Boyd, Alex Boyd, Alice Bovill, Helen Forrest, George Gallacher, John Jamieson, Rhoda Kennedy, Robert Lewis, Cathie McArthur, Frances Nelson, Claire Ramsay, Nancy Rennie, Rena Smith, and David Wood. Thank you to all of them.

Unfortunately David Minnery passed away earlier this year and he will be very sadly missed by the TIS EC and staff. David will be remembered for his invaluable contribution and commitment to the tenants movement.
